The IBD Wickeltechnik industrial unwinding-shaft assembly is designed for supporting and controllably unwinding rolls of web material. It incorporates a winding shaft carried by KL.S-series foot-mounted safety chucks, a CX.250.4 single-disc pneumatic brake and forced cooling from a 24 V DC fan. The safety chucks permit rapid shaft loading and removal, while the locked closure retains the journal during operation. The brake uses four pneumatic calipers, a 250 mm self-ventilating cast-iron disc and a modular design that permits braking torque to be controlled through air pressure. The assembly is mounted on an adjustable wheeled steel transport frame.
